INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF IEEE MTT-S
IEEE Microwave theory and techniques society of Vellore institute of technology was inaugurated on 10th august 2015 by Dr.S.Salivahanan and Dr. K.T.Selvan . This grand ceremony was held in a striking auditorium of the university, the event remained the focus of university on that day. Every student was seen heading towards the event venue at 10:30 am and enumeration of faculties attended the ceremony made this event a captivating one.
The ceremony was made triumphant by the presence of dignitaries Chancellor Dr.G.Viswanathan, chief guests Dr.S.Salivahanan and Dr.K.T.Selvan, pro Vice-chancellor Dr.Anand A.Samuel and SENSE Dean Dr. Ramachandra Reddy, they were welcomed by bestowing them with a bouquet of flowers. The ceremony made divine beginning with the verses of Tamil anthem in the presence of dignitaries, 195 students and 20 faculties from electrical and electronics departments.
The portrait of Sir J C Maxwell was unveiled by our chancellor Dr.G.Viswanathan as a symbol of gratitude for his overriding innovations in electromagnetics. The description, main focus and upcoming events of IEEE microwave theory and techniques society are addressed by Dr.D.Kannadasan, faculty coordinator of IEEE MTTS of VIT.
In his inaugural address, Dr.G.Viswanatham ensured that management will provide all facilities to students for the enhancement of knowledge and development of their overall skills. He specially welcomed Dr.S.Salivahanan and Dr.K.T.Selvan for their presence and support to the club. He also complemented Dr.D.Kannadasan and Ch. Yogesh Kumar for taking an initiative of the establishment of IEEE MTTS of VIT.
A lecture was delivered by Dr.S.Salivahanan apprising students about the objectives of IEEE MTTS. He briefed the pros and cons of being an IEEE member. He mentioned the areas of interests of IEEE MTTS and had related them to the contribution to the recent advancements. He also mentioned the importance of being a part of any society and how it may help in our future endearments. A motivational and informative speech was delivered by Pro-vice chancellor Dr.S.Narayanan and SENSE Dean Dr.Ramachandra Reddy. At the end of inauguration ceremony, mementos were presented to the dignities whose presence made the ceremony triumphant.
Alongside the inaugural ceremony, a technical seminar was arranged which was conducted in the end. This seminar was delivered by Dr.K.T.Selvan, focussing mainly on the concepts of electromagnetics. His seminar included all the basic concepts about units of measurements, Maxwell’s equations and few facts behind those equations. This seminar was gripping, everyone was glued in knowing about the concepts and facts behind electromagnetics.
